COVID-19 Guidance

Everton Volleyball COVID-19 Guidance

Everton Volleyball’s training sessions and competitions are run in line with guidance from the UK government, Sefton Council and the Volleyball England action plan. Our main aim is to deliver COVID-safe sessions for all participants. Hence, the present document sets out a few guidelines and rules that must be followed in order to keep each other safe. Please note that any training session, competition or tournament will be referred to as “session” throughout this document.

Before the session:

  • Make sure you have read and understood the Everton Volleyball COVID-19 guidance (the present document) as well as the relevant risk assessments.
  • Confirm your attendance in advance through the pertinent pre-booking system – this is to manage numbers and keep record of participants for track and trace purposes.
  • If possible, pay for your session via bank transfer or using the Heja app – please ask for details to one of our committee members.
  • Get ready for the session: make sure you bring your own labelled water bottle, sweat towel, elastic band, etc. You won’t be able to share any personal equipment.
  • Travel under government guidelines with social distancing.
  • If you have symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, you must not attend the session. The same rule applies if you live or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms or who has received a positive test result. Please follow the NHS and UK government guidance on self-isolation.

During the session:

  • Any number of interacting players per session can attend – this is subject to revision, and limitations will be put in place when and if the number of participants does not allow successful social distancing off court.
  • Spectators are allowed, but limited to a maximum of 50% to the capacity of the venue. Spectators must also abide by the COVID guideline on gathering limits.
  • Attendees are not required to wear face coverings when playing sport as it may restrict breathing efficiency. The use of face coverings (provided) is strongly recommended off court.
  • Keep your personal belongings at least two metres apart from others.
  • Maintain two metres of social distancing at all times during sessions.
  • Avoid unnecessary contact – such as handshakes or hand slaps.
  • Sanitise your hands during breaks (minimum every ~30 minutes).

Indoors-specific rules

  • A rota will be in place to sanitise balls – before and after training, as well as during breaks (wipes will be provided).
  • Arrive and leave in kit – changing and shower facilities will not be available.
  • Do not enter the facility before the training session’s start time.

Failure to comply with these rules might lead to disciplinary action. These guidelines are subject to change in accordance to updated national and local restrictions. Should a session be changed or cancelled at short notice we will inform everyone who has booked it as soon as possible. Please do follow the website and social media channels for the latest updates.

Thanks for your understanding.
